Add Sizzle to Your Headline & Stand Out On Linkedin

Add Sizzle to Your Headline & Stand Out On Linkedin

With over 675 million users, it’s hard to stand out from your competitors on Linkedin.

Why should you care?

80% of B2B leads from social media come from Linkedin.

That’s 4 out of every 5 leads!

Yes, Linkedin is a lead generation machine. Crank it up with this headline format to attract clients who are a 100% right fit.

An effective Linkedin headline includes your title and the terms that your ideal clients would use to find you (keywords). Add some sizzle with words and phrases that set you apart from your competition.

Don’t be a best-kept secret on Linkedin!

Keywords are searchable terms and phrases that prospective clients and customers use to find you. It’s critical that you use the right keywords in your headline so prospects can find you easily. If you use the wrong ones or leave them out, they can’t find you at all!

While titles like Chief Inspirator and Graphics Goddess are wonderfully creative, they aren’t terms commonly used by Linkedin members. Your title should be specific and searchable with keywords such as Financial Analyst or Graphic Designer.

There are lots of ways to find keywords, but I think the simplest is the Linkedin Add Skills Tool.

To use the tool, scroll down to the “Skills and Endorsements” section of your profile. Access the tool by clicking on “Add a new skill” to open the skills search box.

To identify keywords, enter a term in the search field. The Add Skills Tool fills in skills associated with a term as you type. In the example below, I entered “Linkedin” in the search field and the Add Skills Tool pulled up a list of keywords including Linkedin Recruiter and Linkedin Advertising.

Once you have a good list of words, you can enter them in the LinkedIn search field to compare the strengths of each.

Make it Sizzle

Stand out from your competitors by including the unique value you offer to your target audience.

For example:

  • I help new grads find radically rewarding careers.
  • Build a big, bold, bad-ass brand for your small biz.
  • Get Clear, Get Found, Get Hired!

Use our Headline Worksheet to build a headline that includes searchable titles and the right keywords, then add a little sizzle.

You’ll stand out from your competitors, attract your 100% right-fit clients and customers, and promote brand awareness.

This is where you can be creative.
